I am the hurricane setting fire to the forests

Hi!

I know I have completely disappeared from the blog. It's a little hard to shoot and post as much as I would like to. I guess I've been busy with life in general, but I have been active on Instagram, so if you ever want to know what I'm up to while I'm away from the blog, you can find me there (@milkyinstant).

I have done a little bit of traveling since my last post: I went to New Orleans, Houston, Portland, Miami, and some Caribbean islands (in Honduras, Mexico, Belize and Cayman Islands). I've had a pretty good year so far and hope it stays that way. After last year, it was only fair.

I am debating whether or not I should post pictures from my trips. They were all taken with my phone so the quality is not the best.

Moving on to what really matters in this post: the pictures. I met with Melissa at the Arnold Arboretum for this shoot. If you don't live in Boston, let's just say we met at a very magical place. This arboretum is what fairytales are made of.

I wore this beautiful jumpsuit from Lavish Alice. It is one of my favorite clothing pieces, and it definitely is a showstopper.

I am not a Sunday morning inside four walls
with clean blood
and organized drawers.
I am the hurricane setting fire to the forests
at night when no one else is alive
or awake
however you choose to see it
and I live in my own flames
sometimes burning too bright and too wild
to make things last
or handle myself
or anyone else
and so I run.
Run run run
far and wide
until my bones ache and lungs split
and it feels good.
Hear that people? It feels good
because I am the slave and ruler of my own body
and I wish to do with it exactly as I please

lace + shadows

Hi guys!

It's been a couple of months since I last posted. I have been wanting to do this for really long, but kept putting it off for so many reasons. I promised myself I needed to keep posting before falling into the black hole, again, like I did last year.

These photos come from a series I did with a team of three very talented ladies.

There is nothing better than getting together with a team of people (and women!), who have similar interests to yours, and create beautiful and creative things.

blanket-scarf

Hi guys!

I am so glad I finally sat down to write a post. I have been procrastinating on this post for weeks now. Today, I decided I would get it together, take care of my blog, and post!

As you guys know, I just started a new job so I've been busy with that, and my family is now visiting for the holidays, so in between work and family it gets a little hard to find the time to post. But here I am, ready to share my latest Fall look in collab with darling Alia, the talented photographer who also shot a look from a previous post.

I've worn this blanket-scarf and booties almost every day since September. The booties are super comfortable to walk in and the scarf makes me feel like I'm still in the comfort of my bed. I just can't take them off.

I hope you liked this look!

Oh, and I haven't come up with a good giveaway idea yet... Still thinking.

3rd Blogiversary!!!

Hi guys!

As some of you may know from my Instagram account, it was Instant Milk's 3rd blogiversary last week! YAYY!!!

It definitely feels like it's been less, after that long (approximately 9 month?) hiatus I went through, without posting last year. A lot of people wouldn't believe it, but blogging requires a lot of energy, time, patience and team-work to come up with content/ideas/images that are interesting enough to post. So, I am pretty impressed that I've been able to keep it up until now. I use my blog as an outlet to my creative needs, something that my day-time job doesn't really allow me do.

...And of course my partner in crime, Melissa, was up for the challenge of creating some cool anniversary photos.

This pink dress is meant to be worn the other way around, but I really like how it looks backwards. So, technically I have two dresses in one;)!

I have been thinking of doing a giveaway for the blog's anniversary, but haven't figured out what the gift would be yet. I'll think of something for the next days or week and hopefully share it on my next blog post.

I hope you have an amazing week!

film noir

Hi guys!

I hope you had a fun Halloween (if you celebrate that). I was really bad this year, and came up with a few ideas of what to dress up as, but had no concrete ideas until the very last minute. I ended up dressing up as Cleopatra. I threw on a white lace dress, some gold accessories, and just focused on the face.

If you would like to know how that came out, click here.

Today's post isn't Halloween related, but it is dark, so I thought it would be great to share at this time. Every time Melissa and I get together, really creative things happen. This time, we did something with film noir feels. These shots look like they're straight from a glamorous crime drama.

I love this dress because it's so simple and elegant. I always top it off with a fun necklace.

What do you think of this?

autumn

Hi again!

This post and outfit was fully inspired in the colors of Autumn. I could have said "Fall", but I love the word "Autumn" so much, I had to throw it in there.

For me, this is the perfect autumn/fall outfit, for so many reasons:

First, I am wearing a scarf that I adore, and that my mother-in-law made for me a couple of years ago, out of the most beautiful yarn I had ever seen. It is so thick and big, it's more like a blanket scarf. I love it, and it's one of my favorite ones (if not my favorite).

Second, I am wearing one of my favorite vintage acquisitions, my beautiful YSL kitten heels (which you might have seen on older posts).

Third, I am wearing a mustard turtleneck dress. Besides burgundy and green, I think mustard is the perfect color for fall. And, turtle-necks... pretty much everything I wear for fall and winter. From these pictures you can probably tell that I don't wear turtlenecks just because they're warm, but also because I love how they look. By the way, just in case you were wondering, no, this dress is not warm at all:).

I hope you guys liked the pictures as much as I did. It was my first time working with Alia (the photographer), and she was such a sweet and cool girl!

Let me know what you think!

bathtub series: bleu

Hi guys!

If you have been following my blog for the past month, you know that I did a beautiful bathtub series collaboration with Melissa. We even did a BTS video (which you can find on my previous post). I love the incorporation of fashion with conceptual/creative content, and every time Melissa and I get together, magical things happen!

On this third set of the bathtub series, I am wearing a dress by AKA which you might remember from last year's post (here). I believe they don't have it on their website anymore, but they have a lot of other cool stuff, so I would definitely check them out.

Also, notice how I paired the dress with My Kitsh jewelry, just like I did last year, but with completely different pieces.
